Can’t learn to do either from a book. But, I can say that Agrapinna Vaganova’s book, translated into English by Anatole Chujoy, is probably the twentieth century’s most seminal book on a complete revamping of technique pushing the art form waaay passed the rusting hulks of Cecchetti, RAD and mish-mash schools of classical ballet. To date, it and other’s written after in support of it, is the best reference manual for classical ballet. -P
